IMAGINE box office king John Lloyd Cruz doing a kissing scene with co-actor Luis Manzano. This will be an unlikely project for him and first for both actors that will highlight a light gay drama movie.
They will be with Gov. Vilma Santos, the Star for All Seasons, in the movie “A Mother’s Story” which will be produced by Star Cinema.
John Lloyd’s last two movies were with Sarah Geronimo. The two are considered wholesome and “kilig” movies.
Though at first there were doubts especially for Luis to do a gay role , he said it is one of the two dream roles that he has, the other being a disabled.
Since he will be with his mother in the film and since the director would be Ms. Olivia Lamasan, this project should be one of a kind.
"I'm thrilled because John Lloyd is an excellent artist. I admire his acting skills," Ate Vi said.
Though a lot of questions were raised before finally fitting the final screws to start the film, there were comments that are somewhat negative. Questions were raised like “Naubusan na ba ng leading ladies si John Lloyd at bakla naman ang ipa-partner sa kanya?”
"It's not going to be easy for sure pero sobra akong excited since first time kong gagawa ng ganitong tema at gusto ko magawa ito sa kung paano siya vini-visualize ng director ko at kung paano ko siya vini-visualize. Lalaki sa lalaki pa rin ‘yan. Wala naman akong problema with the gay community, wala akong problema riyan. Mahal ko 'yang mga 'yan at ang dami kong friends na ganyan. I just have to be reminded na I'm only portraying a role,” says John Lloyd.
From Megastar and Comedy Queen combo, down to Juday and Ogie tandem and now, box office king and Star for all Seasons, who will reign supreme? Just asking…
